Gandhi

You storm out the door like it's my fault.

And maybe you're right, maybe it is my fault, but it's also yours.

Now there isn't anything else to say.

We've both come to an understanding, and as you leave my life, I crumble.

I've asked myself thousand of times "When will we own ourselves completely?"

I never get an answer of course, but I can't help but question it.

Why did this happen?

Why can't we ever learn?

When will we ever learn?

Life goes on however.

Even though we don't learn from our mistakes and instead blame one another,  we continue to live our lives.

You don't recall, but I do.

I remember you and me.

I keep forgetting that we are not together anymore.

I keep forgetting that time cannot turn back and that I must move on.

But my depression grows darker and darker.

This world seems to crack and fall apart around me.

No one is there to help me.  Save me.  Love me.

Then I recall, tonight is not the last time I'll see the light.

Live for the Future

This is for the boxers.

This is for the wrestler.

Who fight for their dreams.

This is for the police officer that pulls you over only to let you go.

This is for the firemen.

This is for the teachers. English. Spanish. Japan-ish.

Live for the future.

This is for the people who laugh when they embarrass themselves.

This is for the ones who hold a grudge and can't let it go.

This is for the person who caused you to have a grudge.

Live for the future.

This is for the mexicans who cross the boarder.

Not because they sell drugs, but because they want to live the american dream.

This is for the ones who don't care.

This is for the ones who can't look you in the eyes.  The face.

Live for the future.

This is for the animal lovers.

People lovers.

Chocolate lovers.

This is for the righteous people.  The peacemakers.

This is for you.

Live for the future.

This is for the big dog that has a gentle nature.

For the small dog that wants to protect.

This is for the book that gathers dust, but still waits patiently.

Or the move still on pause.

Live for the future.

This is for you.

You never know when the world will end, or how life will come together, but you must anticipate your life to come.  Jobs will change, love will come and go, but you have to go on.  And even though you can't see how your life makes sense and you don't believe that you will have a future, just continue day by day, and live for the future.

My Story

It was during the summer of 6th grade to 7th gradeI had woken up really early because I was going to go fishing with my sister and uncle Jason.  It was dark out when we had set out, and because it was so early, I fell asleep in the car ride up.

When we got there, it was close to 7 or 8 in the morningWe got our fishing poles out and put the strings on and the hooks.  We then grabbed bait and headed down to the lakeJason quickly taught us how to cast the rod, then went off a little ways to go fish.  My sister and I decided to take off our jackets because it was getting nice and warmI went to go put the jackets down with the other stuff, while I was talking to her.

I had noticed that she was about to cast, so I talked a little louder hoping she would notice that I was behind her, but she didn't.  Suddenly I felt a small bite on my arm.
"Ouch."  I muttered even though it didn't really hurt.  I turned to glance at what had bitten my arm, when I saw the small three prong hook she was using.

My sister quickly came over noticing that her hook was gone.  The hook had gone from the inside of my shirt to the outside, and into my arm, and because of this, I couldn't really move my armMy sister freaked out, apologizing while we went to get JasonI laughed it off.

We all got back to Jason's truck and I sat in the frontWe drove up to the hospital and waited for a couple hours.  When we got in, the nurse had to cut a hole in the back of my shirt to get the string out, then cut off the extra two prongs.

The doctor came and numbed my arm. Because the hook had little prong at the end that would keep the fish attached, he couldn't just pull it out. So he cleaned around the hook and then popped the hook by poking it out in a different spot.    He had to give me a tetanus shot.

My sister stayed with me the entire time because she felt so bad.  And when the doctor was done, we went fishing some more, and when we got home, we ate fish for dinner.
